India is preparing for the ICC World Test Championship Final 2023 and has announced a 15-player squad. The team is looking to improve on their performance in the 2021 final where they lost to New Zealand. Middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been recalled to the squad after not playing a Test match for over a year. However, Shreyas Iyer, who had replaced Rahane, misses out due to a back injury, and Suryakumar Yadav was not included in the squad. Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel have made the squad, along with quick bowlers Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and left-armer Jaydev Unadkat. Jasprit Bumrah will miss out due to his ongoing rehabilitation from a back injury. The team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, will take on Australia for the World Test Championship mace from June 7 at The Oval in London.
