According to multiple reports, the Minnesota Twins are finalizing a four-year, $73.5 million contract extension with right-hander Pablo Lopez. Lopez, who was acquired by the Twins in a January trade with the Miami Marlins that sent Luis Arraez the other way, has excelled in his four starts for the Twins, boasting a 1-1 record and 1.73 ERA, while leading the majors with 33 strikeouts in 26 innings. With this contract, the 27-year-old Lopez will forego his eligibility for free agency after the 2024 season. In his career, split between the Marlins and Twins, Lopez has a record of 29-32 and a 3.83 ERA in 98 starts.
