“New York Giants Face Contract Disputes as Star Players Barkley and Lawrence Miss Offseason Program”

The New York Giants have begun their offseason program without two of their star players and team captains, Saquon Barkley and Dexter Lawrence. Barkley is unhappy with the $10.1 million franchise tag and won’t sign it, preventing him from attending workouts or being in the Giants’ facility. Lawrence, on the other hand, stayed away from the start of the offseason program due to a contract disagreement. Despite their absences, the Giants seem unconcerned about negative effects on the locker room, and quarterback Daniel Jones believes they have great and mature players who understand the business side of the NFL. While Lawrence’s absence could be shorter, Barkley is not expected to join his teammates anytime soon. The two sides may negotiate a new deal after the draft, but they have until July 15 to reach an agreement, or Barkley will have to play the season on his franchise tender.
