In the Indian Premier League match held on April 30th, the Punjab Kings chased down a target of 201 runs against the Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling last-over win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Although the pitch was challenging to bat on, the Punjab Kings managed to win thanks to a brilliant performance from their batsmen. The Chennai Super Kings spinners had initially dominated the middle overs, setting a daunting target for the Kings. However, Liam Livingstone’s aggressive 24-run over against Tushar Deshpande changed the course of the game, and Punjab’s batters started to find the gaps to score runs. Despite a superb death-over spell from Matheesha Pathirana, the Kings managed to win the game on the final ball with three runs needed. The win was a collective effort from the Punjab Kings’ dynamic batting unit, with a special mention for Livingstone’s brilliant innings. Earlier, Chennai’s Devon Conway scored an unbeaten 92 runs, which was the backbone of their total of 200, including two successive sixes from MS Dhoni to finish the innings.
